01 — About
A small studio measured by the work, not the headcount.
Harborline Studio was founded in Seattle in 2016. We are a three-person architecture practice focused on buildings that feel settled in their place — quiet, durable, and easy to live with.
We choose materials that age well in the Pacific Northwest climate: cedar, concrete, steel, and glass. We draw by hand and by computer. We visit job sites often. And we keep our project load small so the same people who sketch the concept are the ones who answer the phone.
Studio — Fremont, Seattle
"We draw buildings the way we would want to walk into them."
02 — Team
Mira Chen, Daniel Ortiz, Sarah Brooks
Our team brings together architecture, interiors, and construction administration. Every project has one lead designer supported by the studio as a whole.
Mira Chen
Principal / Lead Designer
Mira founded Harborline after ten years in Seattle and San Francisco practices. She runs design and client relationships.
Daniel Ortiz
Project Architect
Daniel leads technical documentation and permitting. He keeps drawings clear, coordinated, and buildable.
Sarah Brooks
Designer / Interiors
Sarah develops interiors, materials, and custom details. She also models concepts and prepares presentation drawings.
03 — Values
Measure twice
Good buildings come from careful observation. We measure sites, budgets, and constraints precisely before we draw.
Build quietly
We avoid gestures that compete with the landscape or the street. Architecture should be a backdrop for daily life.
Stay close
Small teams mean direct communication. The people you meet at the first site visit stay with the project until completion.
